Mission
The team’s mission is to learn, teach and play rugby; to forge new friendships; to celebrate others’ differences; and to give back to its supportive communities through charitable and educational activities.
1. To learn, teach and play rugby. First and foremost, the Dallas Diablos are dedicated to learning, teaching and playing rugby in a welcoming and encouraging environment. Since forming, the Diablos have maintained a twice-a-week practice schedule, and always welcome new players to the sport by offering formal and informal instruction on an ongoing basis. We are committed to bringing one of the world’s most popular games to new players who may not otherwise have considered playing. The Diablos are growing and always welcomes newcomers to the sport, as well as experienced players, coaches, fans and contributors of all ages, races and sexual orientations.
2. To forge friendships and celebrate others’ differences. As is common throughout the sport of rugby, the team emphasizes building camaraderie and friendships on and off the pitch (the playing field). By seeking diversity among team members across age, race, ethnicity and sexual orientation, the Diablos are dedicated to building bridges among communities while increasing the visibility of rugby. Off the pitch, the team regularly hosts a wide variety of social gatherings, including team dinners, game nights, and camping and rafting trips.
3. To give back to our supportive communities. The Dallas Diablos are committed to giving back to our communities through charitable and educational activities and plan to prove this in our first upcoming year.
